Support Inclusive Employment

SETI regularly meets employers to discuss the rights of youth with disabilities to be included in the workplace, to respond to their fears about making their institutions inclusive, correct wrong stereotypes, and to raise awareness among employers and work colleagues about how to have their workplace accessible and how to deal with persons with disabilities.

Community Based Rehabilitation/Community Based Inclusive Development

Establishes small community rehabilitation programs by supporting community entities in poor districts and remote areas raising their capacity to provide basic services to the person with disability in his/her environment through trained family and community members. Community based rehabilitation services are disseminated in poor districts in Cairo, Guiza, Kalioubeya, Alexandria, Sharkia, Damietta, Assiout, Kena, Sohag and Aswan and serve thousands of families.

Working with Officials

SETI works with officials in various governmental entities to make their plans inclusive in compliance with the law and international conventions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Support Inclusive Education from Nurseries to Universities and Internships (Schools)

SETI implemented the first official inclusive education project in Egypt in partnership with the Ministry of Education in 1998 with the support of Save the Children UK and UNESCO. Several projects followed with the support of Save the Children UK and the European Union, culminating in the issuing by the Ministry of Education in 2009 of the first official decree establishing Inclusive Education in regular schools.

Support Inclusive Education from Nurseries to Universities and Internships (Universities)

SETI contributed to training and workshops as well as in preparing guidelines for making training programs for youth accessible for youth with disabilities, as well as making the services of the University Centers for Career Development (UCCDs) accessible for students with disability enrolled in universities in the framework of a cooperation with International Labor Organization ILO that started in 2015.

Consultancies for Various Entities

SETI provides consultations for Ministries, NGOs, etc. in tasks such as program evaluations, preparation and revision of curricula, and manuals. Additionally, SETI offers consultancies for setting plans for sustainability, scaling up, etc.

Support Inclusive Education from Nurseries to Universities and Internships (Nurseries)

SETI prepared the “Guideline for Inclusive KGs” that was issued in 2011 in the framework of Early Childhood Enhancement Education Project with the support of Canadian International Development Agency.

Support Inclusive Recreational, Cultural and Sports Activities

SETI supports providers of recreational, cultural and sports activities to make their activities inclusive and welcoming of diversity and inclusive of children and youth with disabilities..
