Regional dialogue on issues related to community rehabilitation / inclusive community development in the Arab world (5 Virtual online dialogues)

The dialogues aimed to facilitate joint learning and exchange experiences among participants, focusing on best practices in Community-Based Rehabilitation and Inclusive Community Development (CBR/CBID), particularly in the context of COVID. The discussions informed planning for the postponed CBR/CBID conference in 2023 and the World Disability Summit in February 2022. Topics included assessing the contribution of CBR/CBID to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the Sustainable Development Goals, exploring intersectionality in CBR/CBID, and identifying areas for improvement. The dialogues involved participants from six Arab countries, including government agencies, NGOs, and individuals with various disabilities. The goal was to produce an analytical report documenting discussions, experiences, and points for further development. Key topics discussed included intersectionality, community-level support, financial well-being, livelihoods, work, poverty alleviation, and innovations in CBR. Location: Virtual online dialogues.
